The department provides services in various fields/disciplines which are given as under :-

• Geological exploration of Minerals, Gemstone & Engineering assignments/ projects.

• Exploration and development of Groundwater and its development.

• Exploration and development of production wells for Groundwater resources.

• Exploratory Mining.

• Exploratory drilling by way of diamond drilling Rotary/Reverse Rotary drilling besides, percussion methods of drilling.

• Processing of Mining Leases/Prospecting Licenses for Major Minerals.

• Implement of Mineral Concession Rules of 1960, and Jammu & Kashmir Minor Mineral Concession Rules 1962 framed under M&M(D&R) Act 1957.

• Collection of Royalty of Major as well as Minor Minerals.
